Jan. 8-10: I had a board meeting each day. Pension, General Board, and PVBI. We appreciate how each of these board members take their positions seriously and contribute to advancing the physical and spiritual needs of GMC.
Jan.11 – Feb. 1: Rhoda and I went to our Sun City Camp in Florida. God used Rev. David Fulton and Rev. Stephen Cassidy as they preached God’s word to encourage and challenge us to be Christlike. God’s Spirit moved in a special way repeatedly throughout the camp. To God be the Glory. One extra blessing this year was that Sis Laura Geul was with us for a pre-service. She ministers at the “Awake Coffee Shop” in MI. Laura was saved 15 years ago at our camp. Please go to godsmissionarychurch.org for a full report of camp (Hit menu then articles). You will want to read about a beautiful chalk drawing by Bro. Andy Heinzelman and Rev. Ryan Martin.
Rhoda and I also went over to Camp Freedom and heard an excellent message by Rev. Dan Stetler. We appreciate their director, Rev. Dennis Richey and all those who make camp possible.
Feb. 2-6: Hobe Sound for Sea Breeze Camp. Rev. Curtis Going and Rev. Blake Jones both preached challenging messages. We appreciated the anointed and beautiful music by Rev. Duane Quesenberry family. We were privileged to be part of the crowd for the dedication of the new gym. Rhoda and I also had the honor to visit and have prayer with Sis Bonnie Cleaver in the nursing home. She served many years as a missionary for GMC in Haiti.
Feb. 07-10: I went to PV school revival 3 times. Rev. Josh Davis, an alumnus of PV, preached excellent truths each time. It brought back a lot of good memories of him in class. I was privileged to teach at PV for 20 years.
I was also involved in ministerial preparation, sermon preparation, and a World Mission zoom meeting.
Feb. 11: Rebersburg, it was exciting to preach to 36 on Sunday morning. There are new ones from the community coming to the church. The visible work on the outside of the church like the new sign, cement ramps, entrance and parking lot is a tremendous improvement.
Feb. 12-14: Halifax, for our GMC Ministerial. God always uses this time together to refresh and equip those who attend. Rev. Rollin Mitchell shared “How the Angel appeared to him”. We thank God for Bro. Mitchell’s healing. We are all eyewitnesses of a miracle. Rev. Greg Hobelman challenged the ministers to be real. Let us be men of integrity. In our last combined session Rev. Solomon Shaffer shared an excellent power point on expanding our “Reach”. We always end with a special dinner and announce who is voted in as the “Minister of the Year”. Rev. Aaron Dorman was voted in this year. We really appreciate Aaron and Katrina’s ministry at the Pillow Church and the blessing they are to our conference.
Feb. 15-17: Administrative work, wrap up of ministerial evaluation sheets, etc. Studying and praying for an upcoming revival meeting.
Feb. 18: I went to visit the Forest Hill Evangelical Methodist Church. Rev. Brent Lenhart preached a very good message on Eph. 6. I appreciate how many of their people come over to our camp at Penns Creek.
Feb. 19-24: I wrote an article about Sun City Camp and our GMC ministerial for our web site. I played 5 full court basketball games at PV. This was the first time I felt well enough since my Lyme disease battle in the fall. I praise God for his continued touch! I studied F.O.R.M., an evangelism strategy, and shared it in two Personal Evangelism classes at PV. Thanks Bro. Keith Bunch for the opportunity to share with your students. I also took Bro. Knapp to the hospital to visit his wife Wanda, who had been having very serious issues. We visited and prayed for them before we left. Then we had a few hours of sermon preparation for Sunday.
Feb 25: Millmont, it was exciting to preach on The Great Commission to a church that is planning an outreach month in March. We appreciate the pastoral team and their plan to reach others. Thanks also to the McMillan and Cade Davis family for the wonderful fellowship and Sunday dinner meal.
Feb. 26: PV ministers vs High School annual basketball game. The high school played well but the older ones prevailed. In the evening, I had a Youth Crusaders board meeting. They are doing a wonderful job engaging and equipping our youth.
Feb. 27-29: I worked on travel notes and getting ready for our G.B. meeting. In our G.B. meeting we spent extra time discussing our Florida district.
March 1-3: Penn View for an excellent missionary service by Glenn Gault family. God is using them in a wonderful way. I also was involved in administrative work and visited a friend of ours, Harold Kolb, in the Danville Hospital.
March 5-7: Lebanon, Outreach and Bus Convention. The evening speaker, Rev. Marc Sankey, Plenary Speakers, Rev. Hery Santiago, and Rev. John Peabody did an excellent job ministering God’s Word. The many sessions fulfilled the board’s goal to encourage and help believers to make disciples.
