“Hither to hath the Lord helped us!” He surely did! This year saw a return of the previous camp president, Rev. Matt Ellison as one of our camp evangelists along with Rev. Dan Stetler, both from Hobe Sound, FL. These men did an excellent job delivering their hearts and presenting truths that were a help and encouragement to us all! A wonderful arrangement of music and singing was provided by the Jeff Self family from Bremen, Ohio! And every service was marked by the Lord’s presence. Justin Ellison faithfully served as youth evangelist and Ricky and Mel Susan did a fantastic job as children’s workers! These were “Mount of Blessing Camp boys” just a few years ago who have now graduated from Bible College and accepted a call to preach the gospel.
We were also blessed to have the Lebanon Valley Gospel Band with us again on the first Sunday afternoon which is an annual tradition. They did a great job lifting up Jesus with their music.
All in all, there were many good clear victories, needs met and hearts touched by the presence of the Lord! Liberty Fireworks, great fellowship, bicycles, corn-hole, volleyball, good clean wholesome fun, Zimmerman’s ice cream, an annual hog roast, the Fourth of July and “Strings around the Fire” help to make Mount of Blessing Camp a thriving family-oriented atmosphere. But most importantly, sensing God’s presence and watching Him move in our services makes MOBC a wonderful place to bring our families for 10 full days of spiritual focus!
The decisive victories won around the altar is always the most important aspect of any camp meeting! And this year we were not disappointed – God came! Our hearts were blessed to see children, young people and the not so young settling issues before the Lord. We were reminded once again… at any cost, with all effort, camp meeting is indeed worth it!
This year there were 34 RVs on the grounds, the most ever! We were maxed out to full capacity! And will plan once again to increase the number of hook-ups for next year. “Be sure to reserve your spot!”
With hardly any pull, the offerings flowed in and overflowed. To God be ALL the glory! There is the goal of $25,000 to be raised during camp, but people gave abundantly beyond to raise almost $39,000! Praise the Lord! Likewise, the monthly pledges came in over the top too. The generous giving by the Mount of Blessing crowd has been truly amazing! Thanks, MOBC family and friends!
This year we also received a very generous gift from an outside organization that provided for much needed property improvements. Through this generous donation both the tabernacle and the “Old Brown Motel” are being renovated with all volunteer labor. If you are interested in getting involved in these ongoing renovation projects, please do not hesitate to reach out to Brian Spangler. Our plans are to complete these in their entirety this fall.
From our perspective the days of camp meeting are not at all over, in fact some of the best days are still ahead. MOBC plans to continue doing and being what she’s always done and been – a family focused camp where, Holiness is preached, God can freely move, and needs are abundantly supplied! We plan to stay on the same tried and true pathway that was set forth on these precious grounds during that first camp meeting way back in 1947, 78 years ago.
Please join with us in praying that God will continue to use Mount of Blessing Camp for the upbuilding of His Kingdom!
